Museum Opportunities

Make a difference in the community by helping to develop and expand a child’s knowledge and appreciation of art.

The Arizona Museum for Youth needs volunteer support for its ongoing programs and special events. Museum volunteers get a firsthand look at all our exhibitions before they open, Gallery Shop discounts, invitations to annual recognition events and the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

We are adding an additional volunteer opportunity this year in Docent/Tour Guides. This group of volunteers will receive Volunteer 101 and in-depth training about exhibitions and tour techniques to be fully prepared to lead tours. Docent/Tour Guides will also be provided classes in other pertinent subject matter throughout the year.

We have other volunteer positions available, including:

• Administration Volunteer - Provide clerical support to the AMY administrative staff.
• Exhibition Design Volunteer - Work in a fabrication setting with exhibition staff in the preparation and disassembling of exhibitions.
• Gallery Attendant - Performa a variety of activities that facilitate children's art workshops, classes, and special events.
• Visitor and Rental Volunteer - Provide front desk and customer service assistance. Assist customers in the Gallery Shop with questions and sales.
• Special Events Volunteer - Assist AMY staff with special events throughout the year.
